Hello everyone,
Today is a great day, since we are pleased to announce the imminent launch of the second model in our history: the Belledonne B1.
In search of the B1
The desire to expand the range is not new. On the contrary, it has now been a year and a half since we got down to this project, which is more complex than it seems.
The first step was to put down on paper what we wanted. As with the B0, we started with a pair of iconic sneakers from a generation, which we wanted to reinterpret in our own way.
B1 mood board
This time it's towards the 90's that we headed, with the desire to work on a sporty silhouette.
A sportiness that we wanted to counterbalance by seeking inspiration from the Scandinavian sneaker scene, which suggests minimalist lines and lets the material express itself fully.
In terms of specifications, we have maintained a level of requirement identical to that of the B0, and wanted to use more exclusive materials, unpublished at Belledonne.
New project, new recruit.
The creation of this B1 also launched the collaboration with our new designer, Germain.
Germain joined the Belledonne team at the launch of the project, and made the creation of this new model possible.

Germain is an experienced sneaker designer, specializing in responsible design.
His arrival in our team was obvious, as we share the same energy, the same values and the same vision.
For 10 years, he has officiated for major sneaker brands, imagining models designed for performance or for the city.
He uses his expertise in responsible design to imagine products that make sense, unearth eco-sourced materials, think about the overall life cycle of the product...
Several prototypes are currently being developed by us, and we can't wait to show you these next models!
After a rich phase of research, material sourcing and multiple drawings, Germain accurately translated the brief entrusted to him.

A unique design
As we shared with you above, we wanted with this new pair to pay homage to the classics of the 90s.
We wanted to rediscover the "sport" heritage, the "street" influences and the contemporary lines emblematic of this period.
We let Germain bring those intentions to life, and we are happy to present the result to you today.

“Being the second Belledonne model, the B1 is a real challenge which aims to enrich the range.
It is a continuation of the B0 but with a more sporty approach. The different yokes and their dynamic lines bring a touch of uniqueness that gives an “exclusive” side to this model while keeping a minimalist spirit”.

The B1 was developed on an inclined sole, which elevates the model by imposing dynamic lines.
To provide consistency and balance, Germain has designed a mid-height sneaker that follows the natural curve of the malleolus.
This brand new design is highlighted by play on materials and colors.
The novelties of the model
A blend of nappa and nubuck
For the first time at Belledonne, we wanted to combine nappa with a new type of leather: nubuck.
Nubuck is a leather with a velvety appearance, obtained by very fine sanding of the outer layer of the skin.
Its association with nappa allows to bring out the large yokes, and to fully highlight the materials and shapes of this B1.
As with all the leathers we use, it is tanned in Italy. This one in the Marche region, by the Adriatic Sea.
An EVA sole
Another novelty at Belledonne is the use of an EVA sole. An innovative material, which offers many advantages, despite a higher manufacturing cost than rubber soles.
The main characteristics of EVA are durability, comfort and lightness. To illustrate the point, a B1 is 25% lighter than a B0, even though it is made of more leather.
This sole is produced in Portugal, near the factory where our products are made.
